IGNITE CHEER TUMBLING CENTER

                   Heating up the mat one tumbler at a time!

Our classes are broken up by age, not ability.  We prefer to keep peers together and are able to work with athletes of various levels and abilities in one class.  The ages listed are a guideline and there may be exceptions based on maturity and readiness. Semi-private classes may contain athletes of any age range together.

Classes:

Non-Competitive Cheer:

This is an 8 week cheer program for ages 5 and up that follows our tumbling sessions schedule.  Cheer teams will learn the fundamentals of cheer, proper jump and stunt technique and a routine which will be performed for friends and family on the last day.  If you are looking to have your child try cheer, your cheerleader work on their skills in the off season or prep for school tryouts this is the team to do!  There are no competitions this is strictly for skill growth and fun!

Embers:

A 45 minute cheer & tumbling class for ages 3-4.   We will focus on beginning tumbling instruction as well as gross motor skills. Athletes need to be able to be on the floor alone without a parent.  Keep in mind that children are ready at all different ages to be able to participate in organized classes such as this.  We do ask that if you or the coaches do not feel your child is ready for an organized class setting that they be removed from the class and try again in a few months.  We want the focus to be on learning and fun without major disruptions. We do offer the chance to come in for a trial class to find out the readiness of your child. You will never know unless you try!

Flicker:
A 55 minute junior tumbling class for ages 5-8.   This class will focus on flexibility, basic tumbling technique along with working to advance their tumbling skills. Strength training will also be a focus of this class to build the muscles needed to grow their tumbling skills.  Each athlete will be able to work through the progression of skills at their own pace and focus on the skills they need to advance in their tumbling.  Jump skills may also be done at the desire of the athlete.

Sparks:

A 55 minute junior tumbling class for ages 9-11.  This class will focus on flexibility, basic tumbling technique along with working to advance their tumbling skills. Strength training will also be a focus of this class to build the muscles needed to grow their tumbling skills. Each athlete will be able to work through the progression of skills at their own pace and focus on the skills they need to advance in their tumbling.  Jump skills may also be done at the desire of the athlete.

Flames:

A 55 minute class for ages 12 and Up.  There is a progression of skills needed to be learned in order to successfully advance through tumbling and each athlete will follow the progression at their own pace and work on continually advancing their own skills. Strength and flexibility work will also be a focus of this class as it strongly contributes to the advancement of tumbling skills.  Jump skills may also be done during class time at the desire of the athlete.

Advanced Tumbling:

This is a 55 min. class for those tumblers working on advanced tumbling skills.  Tumblers must have a minimum of a round off back handspring alone in order to enroll in this class.  This class will have the entire floor to be able to work longer, more difficult passes.  If a tumbler does have a round off back handspring they don't HAVE to enroll in this class, they are more than welcome to stay in a regular class if they choose.

Private & Semi-Private Lessons:

Private lessons are one on one for a half an hour and Semi-private lessons are classes with a maximum of two or three athletes for an hour.  The athletes are able to get more personalized attention in a smaller class setting and will progress at a faster rate.  

Stretch Class:

This is a half hour class.  This class is not only for cheer flyers but anyone wishing to improve upon their flexibility. This class is great for cheer flyers, dancers or anyone looking to improve flexibility and also for better jumps.

Conditioning & Jumps Class:

This is a half hour class.  This class will focus on overall strength building through conditioning and improving jumps by working on technique and stretching.  This is a great class for cheerleaders and dancers who are looking to improve their overall strength.  If you plan to cheer on a JV team in 7th or 8th grade you will have to take a pass a Selective Classification Fitness test (physical fitness test).  This class will also work to prepare the athletes for that test if applicable.
